Newcastle Disease

Newcastle disease is caused by the single-stranded RNA Newcastle disease virus (NDV). Transmission happens by exposure to bodily discharges from infected birds and through contact with contaminated food, water, equipment or environments. The incubation period ranges from two to 15 days. Clinical symptoms may include respiratory and nervous signs, swelling around eyes and neck, greenish diarrhea and reduced egg production.
