Rabies is a severe, and often fatal, viral disease of mammals most often transmitted through the bite of a rabid animal such as foxes, raccoons, skunks and bats. The rabies virus infects the central nervous system, ultimately causing disease in the brain and death.

The SERELISA® Rabies Ab Mono Indirect enzyme-linked immunosorbent assay (ELISA) is designed for the quantitative detection of rabies antibodies in dog or cat serum. Following the three-step assay, optical density readings are used along with regression analysis to determine if the animal has a protective antibody titer.
