Bordetella avium

Bordetella avium (BA) is a small, Gram-negative, nonfermentative, motile, strictly aerobic bacillus that colonizes in the trachea of turkeys, chickens and other poultry. Other birds can be carriers, but may not develop symptoms of disease. Clinical signs include sneezing, coughing and nasal and ocular discharge.
