Brucella canis

Brucellosis is a chronic infection with Brucella canis that can affect the male and female reproductive organs. While hard to detect early, this infection can lead to abortions in the third trimester. Brucellosis can be transmitted by bodily fluids and is most often found in kennels.

Brucella canis can be infectious to humans. Caution should be exercised when handling serums to be tested.
