Porcine Circovirus Type 2
Porcine circovirus-associated disease (PCVAD) caused by porcine circovirus Type 2 (PCV2) is one of the most economically harmful swine diseases. Affected pigs suffer from progressive weight loss, increased mortality and other clinical impacts, which takes a toll on producers’ productivity and profitability. Most pigs are infected with and carry PCV2, but only some show clinical signs of the disease.
